Accomplishments in 2009

1. Sponsored 3 free morning seminars on Gardening, Recycling and Lawn Diseases and Pests.

2. Conducted a “Recycle Poster Contest” for 5th grade students in Martin Elementary School.

3. Participated in Clean-Up-Days and continue to clean up.

4. Sent "Thank You" notes to residences.

5. Planted and maintained flower-bed at City Hall.

6. Purchased supplies for 3 Adopt-a-Sites.

7. Conducted annual Martin Beautiful Awards.

8. Judged the Martin Business Association’s “Rodeo” Window Decoration contest.

9. Mowed and trimmed grass and shrubs in miscellaneous areas throughout the year.

10. Accepted two new Adopt-a-Sites.

11. Planted flowers in spring and fall at Post Office.

12. Assisted in the decorating of the Christmas Tree in Festival Park.

13. Purchased decorations and decorated the city gazebo and City Hall.

14. Judged the Martin Business Association’s Christmas Tree contest.

15. On advisory committee for city tree grant program.

16. Had a new logo created.

17. Contributed financially to Art in the Schools, UTM Turf Club, Loving Paws Rescue, Painting UTM Recycle Building, and Martin Soybean Festival.
